Some pictures from the past

Hi All

Matt Salas was kind enough to lend me a few pictures to scan that were lying around his shop. I thought they were cool enough to share with everyone.

Nice show. The season is here....Time to Fish

Cod Opener on the Aloha Spirit

Two-Banger Aloha Spirit Style

Hey Gang

Time to dust off your gear - RockCod Season just opened up this week. It's Duck Season! Rabbit Season! Duck Season! Rabbit Season! Duck Season! Rabbit Season! Rabbit Season! Duck Season! Rabbit Season! It's Duck Season?????? Check out the pictures of the Jay Maeda Cod Opener on the Aloha Spirit 3.3.09.

A couple of rods, reels full of spectra, Salas Lures, JaxJigs, Shrimp Flies, an OverSized Root Beer Mogambo Grub, 10 - 12 ounces of lead, and strips of squid was all you need for a day of fun.

Jay Maeda our Fearless CharterMaster - "This is how we roll...."

The butter weather made for a nice ride along the island chain. Breakfast burritos, a cup of joe, and some high octane comedy was on deck with a really good group of guys. Taking advantage of the good weather, the plan was to navigate along the Frontside of San Cruz Island to fish the areas that have not been hit up since the March 1st opener. The charter was made up of the usual suspects from the shop and some of real cool folks who work with Officer Maeda.

Ohhhhhhh I'm Bit

Jordan and Matt Salas - On the Original Salas Shrimp Fly

And the Weiner is...........

Chuckles, Whitefish, Treefish, and a few other species were caught by the group. A nice goat tipped the scale for the JackPot.

Spent

Thanks again to Shawn Steward and the Crew of the Aloha Spirit for a nice day out of the office. The offseason boatwork turned out real nice. I highly recommend the Spirit if you want to go fish the northern waters. Check out their Schedule and book a trip.

The name of the boat is a great description of their operation.

Aloha Spirit - Boat Work

Hey Gang

I was surfing the web this morning and checked out the Aloha Spirit website. Looks like Shawn and the crew have been pretty busy with some Boat Work during the offseason. Here is a little blurb from their Website - Aloha Spirit Sportfishing

Recent News 020609 Hello everyone we have been really busy on the boat with putting a new deck on the boat, painting the house, hull and bulworks. We put in a water heater and a spare bait pump along with a new grill in the galley. We are getting rid of those annoying cletes along the inside of the boat that we all seem to find when walking up the sides of the boat. In the bow we have put in a all stainless anchor system instead of the wood plank we used to have. We will have some pictures on here shortly. We still have good dates available for 2009 so give us a call.

Shawn and the crew

Man, I was on the Spirit this past December and I thought the boat was in pretty sweet shape. A little Make-Over just in time for our Jay Maeda Rock Fish Opener Charter next week. Can't wait to check out the new look.

PS - There will be NO loose torpedo sinkers banging against the freshly painted Wheelhouse or Bulworks on our trip. Watch me put a nice ding in the new paint job - D'oh!!!!!

John Cunningham from Newport Bait Company has to be shredding it up in one of these shots.

Thanks for the pictures Mr. Cartmell
