Hi Folks

I had the opportunity to fish on the Annual Jeff Yee 1.5 Day Offshore Fishing Trip on the Endeavor this past weekend. This year Jeff stepped up the trip to a 1.5 day trip giving us more time on the water. It was stellar weather with no wind to speak of. David Ikeda and crew welcomed us aboard. "Man, the weather has been like this since July 4th. Grease calm days." It was all of the fixings for a great trip and the group was ready to fish.

What makes the trip really cool is the great people that make up the group.

This was my third time with the group and the first time offshore for my wife Jessica. She did a great job pulling in 7 Dodos and a couple of Yellows. Not bad for the first time offshore. I was stoked for her.

We ended up the day with a mixed bag of Yellowtail and Mahi. The Dodos were free swimming all over the place. It was like looking into an aquarium. It a mixed bag on size. The Mahi were eating bait and the 7X Surface Iron, and the Yellows were on anything you tossed at em. We did get a few Bluefin in the grey on the YoYo and a mid day sample of Yellowfin on bait. Doug also gave us a show when he hooked a rather large Mako right off the windy side of the boat. We also had two marlin come up behind the trollers and bite short.

Myles turned 7 on that day, and I can tell you he’s completely hooked (pun intended) on this whole fishing gig. Bob…here's the pics of Brian I promised…. Sorry they're not in such good shape. Back when these were taken, they had these things called Polaroids, and someone owned the shots…..

Here's the shots with Brian in them. We were both skinny dudes once upon a time…. But as you can tell, he was more the stud than I….

Here's the shot of my 200lb Kamikaze on a 50 wide single speed on a Calstar 655xxh. This fish won the jackpot I embarrassed to say… On the other hand, I was the only one that decided not to go to sleep like Frank LoPreste said, and the only one stupid enough to use a 2 foot long scad. Frank said it was strange looking 200….looked a lot larger when we actually brought it on board, versus its actual weigh-in at the dock.

Here's a shot of the results of my "once-in-a-lifetime" night/morning at Roca Partida. A 150, 155, 175 Kamikaze that shook the gaff and fought for another 2 hours, and the 200 Kamikaze on the scad that started the all night/morning bite.

No worries on the Quality of the pics Mike.
What really counts is the content of the pictures.
Single Speed and No Spectra........
I need to stream some Earth Wind and Fire and we would be Full Speed Old School.

The boat returned this morning with a catch of just World class Yellowtail (which had beautiful color when they came out of the hole) mixed in with a fair amount of the early season Bluefin tuna, a sampling of Albacore and not to forget our first White Seabass. The weather was one we all will remember in a good way...after last weeks trip. It was a great time with a variety of nice fish. Thanks to our wonderful gang of Guys and Gal thanks again to Catchy Tackle - Drew, John and Wayne - for the nice give aways on this trip. Check out jackpot winners below and passenger Carl Brown, who treated himself to this trip before going overseas to serve - thanks for fishing with us! And, not pictured, our regular passenger, Joe Skinner, caught the second biggest Albacore of the season (according to Bill Roecker), weighing in at 37.6lbs.
